D-Link announced the availability of its ShareCenter 4-Bay Cloud Network Storage Enclosure and the Full HD PoE Day/Night Network Camera.
Designed to provide features offered in both business and consumer storage arrays, the storage unit, called the DNS-340L, is aimed at small- to medium-size businesses (SMBs) and powered by a 1.2GHz central processing unit (CPU) and 512MB RAM.
The storage unit integrates a feature set which can act as a small multi-functional server to support applications such as media and print serving, Web server, download and backup center, photo and audio center and surveillance. It also integrates D-Link’s mydlink cloud service.
The service, which allows users to access files and applications from anywhere, is complemented by free iOS and Android apps that allow users to remotely stream multimedia content stored on a D-Link ShareCenter network attached storage (NAS) unit to a mobile device.
Digital media files can be backed up to the DNS-340L for safekeeping with the pre-installed Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA)-certified Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) Audio Visual media server. Digital content on the NAS can be streamed remotely to compatible media players such as a smart TV or gaming console like the Microsoft Xbox 360.
Available for $299.99 through D-Link’s network of channel partners, including value-added resellers (VARs) and distributors and online retailers, the unit supports Hot Swap, USB 3.0 interface, and mydlink technologies, including Zero Configuration, Email Notification, and the Redirect to NAS functions.
The DCS-2210L IP camera replaces the current DCS-2210, and doubles the frame rate to 30 frames per second (FPS). It also increases the field of view to a wider 103 degrees, doubles the SD card storage capacity from 32GB to 64GB, and adds support for the mydlink cloud service.
The camera offers 1920 x 1080 resolution, a built-in microphone and speaker, and integrated infrared illumination for seeing in complete darkness.
Other features include a passive infrared (PIR) sensor for enhanced motion detection, and Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing for single cable installation.
The DCS-2210L, available for an estimated price of $225, includes an integrated microSD card slot for local in camera recording of event-triggered video clips and snapshots for later review using a Web browser.
Also featured is H.264, MPEG-4 and MJPEG video compression, multiple independent streaming profiles and ONVIF compliance, which offers standardization of communication across network video devices.
In addition, with the included D-ViewCam software, users can view, manage and record up to 32 cameras on a single computer in a central location, plus receive e-mail alerts if motion or digital input devices are detected.
