As part of its campaign designed to encourage users to secure their computing environments, Microsoft has published a white paper detailing some of the high-level thinking that goes into Redmonds plan to secure its own perimeter. Microsoft has some challenging security requirements, given that it is experiencing about 100,000 intrusion attempts and is receiving over 125,000 virus-infected e-mail messages — monthly.
