Technology giant Hewlett-Packard (HP) announced the release of its customer communication management solution Exstream 8.6, which is designed to unify companies’ design environments, allowing the creation and delivery of brand-compliant HTML customer communications for email, the Web and mobile applications.

Exstream 8.6, which is scheduled for general availability at the end of the month, gives users the ability to ensure consistency of communications across all delivery channels including print, email, Web and mobile applications. In addition, designers now have the ability to control the appearance and behavior of HTML, including dynamic charts, videos, hyperlinks and other rich multimedia elements. Users can also incorporate interactive options that allow consumers to hone in on a key element within a customer communication for additional detail.

“As consumers desire more detailed, personalized and timely information from the companies they do business with, companies need the ability to design and deliver customer communications for traditional and digital channels,” Allan Brown, vice president and general manager for HP Exstream, said in a statement. “The latest enhancement to HP Exstream is the next step in improving the customer experience and creating more effective communications for profitable customer interactions.”

HP also announced products and services that help enterprises to disrupt the adversary marketplace, manage risk and extend their security capabilities to better protect themselves against a growing threat landscape, including Threat Central, a community-sourced security intelligence platform to facilitate automated, real-time collaboration among organizations in the battle against active cyber-threats.

HP’s Distributed Denial of Services (DDoS) Protection Services leverage security tools and event monitoring by security analysts to help organizations detect and take action on DDoS and Web-application attacks, while the company’s Supplier Security Compliance Solution protects the flow of information across an organization’s network of suppliers. After a data breach, organizations can gain control of their data to minimize the loss of money, trade secrets and customer trust.

The company’s TippingPoint Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) addresses risks introduced by cloud, mobile and bring your own device (BYOD) initiatives by delivering security effectiveness with granular application visibility and control, while HP’s ArcSight and Fortify solutions offer data-driven security technologies, including ArcSight Application View, ArcSight Management Center, ArcSight Risk Insight and ArcSight Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) v6.5c.

According to a recent Ponemon Institute survey, cyber-crime continues to increase, with 92 percent of Forbes Global 2000 companies reporting data breaches in the last 12 months. This growth is due to adversaries forming a more sophisticated and collaborative marketplace through which they share information and advanced data theft tools. Another Ponemon study estimated that the global cyber-crime black market has a value of $104 billion per year.
