Luxul Wireless, a producer of wireless signal technologies, and D-Link, an end-to-end solutions provider for consumers and businesses, announced the availability of a series of Federal Communications Commission-certified Wi-Fi systems.

The FCC-certified systems and kits will bundle the D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G access point, which delivers speeds of up to 108M bps and includes Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) management software. The bundled solutions will be marketed under the Luxul Wireless Pro-Wav brand.

Pro-Wav solutions combine signal boosting technology with high efficiency antennas to expand wireless coverage areas and improve overall performance of a wireless access point (WAP) by as much as 400 percent, according to Luxul. Pre-certified Luxul/D-Link solutions will initially be offered for the Pro-Wav 100, Pro-Wav 200 and select Pro-Wav Range Extender Kits. Pro-Wav pre-certified products are currently available through Control4 dealers. Expanded availability through other Luxul sales channels is expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2010.

“The AirPlus Xtreme G is one of our most popular and reliable access points for home and small office environments,” said AJ Wang, chief technology officer for D-Link. “The addition of Luxul Wireless technologies further extends its use and capabilities to meet the maximum allowable FCC limits. Being pre-certified is a significant advantage for integrators and installers of Wi-Fi networks that would otherwise need to self-certify.”

Luxul’s Pro-Wav solutions implement patented digital signal boosting technologies along with a circular polarization signal technology called Clear-Wav. While Luxul noted a maximum wireless signal rate derived from IEEE Standard 802.11g specifications, actual data throughput will vary. Network conditions and environmental factors, including volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, and network overhead, can lower actual data throughput rate, and environmental factors will adversely affect wireless signal range.

“D-Link is one of the most recognized and respected brands in the wireless industry,” said Jeffrey Curtis, president of Luxul. “Luxul Wireless is excited to launch our FCC-certified solutions program and to be able to do so with D-Link as a partner.”

In November, Luxul announced additions to its family of Shock-Wav Wi-Fi Signal Boosters. Indoor and outdoor rated versions of Shock-Wav Signal Boosters were released for use in licensed 4.9GHz Public Safety wireless network installations, as well as in unlicensed 5GHz WLAN applications. A 2.4GHz indoor version was also made available for use with switches or wireless access points that implement the 802.3af/at Power-Over-Ethernet (POE) standard.

Luxul’s Shock-Wav signal boosters are designed for bidirectional amplification and dynamically adjust to the incoming transmit signal to optimize output strength. Shock-Wav WiFi Signal Boosters utilize Automatic Gain Control (AGC) technology that monitors the incoming signal and makes adjustments so that the output signal maintains constant power levels, helping ensure the cleanest RF signal possible.
