Blu-Ray Group Seeks Partners for New DVD Format

The Blu-ray group this week said it would seek more partners to join the groups 13 founders. The companies, including Sony Corp. and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd., said they would establish the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) to set format standards and develop business opportunities.

Blu-ray competes with HD-DVD, which won the backing of the DVD Forum, an association of some 220 electronics and media companies.
