The Digistor Ultraslim DVD Multi Burner, which shipped earlier this month, is a neat little portable DVD burner that could be a great alternative to dragging along a docking station on business trips.
I could connect the $350 product using a USB 2.0 or FireWire port, and my drive unit could handle CD-R, CD-RW and RAM media, as well as standard 700MB CD-R/CD-RW disks.
When I hooked the Multi Burner to a Macintosh G5, the G5s six-pin FireWire was able to power the DVD burner. Unfortunately, most PCs dont come with six-pin FireWire (they usually have a four-pin configuration), which means PC users will probably have to bring the included power supply when taking the Multi Burner on trips.
The Multi Burner comes with a useful multimedia software suite that includes Uleads DVD MovieFactory 2 SE, VideoStudio 7 SE DVD and DVD Player.
