      Flash Memory Summit 2018 Reveals Best of Show Winners

      SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Flash Memory Summit, which drew a capacity audience to the convention center this week, on Aug. 9 announced its 2018 Best of Show Awards. This year’s 18 awards recognize the most significant products and companies worldwide within the Flash Memory and Solid State Storage industries in 2018.

      The winners are:

      Most Innovative Flash Memory Customer Implementation addressing real-world solutions that demonstrate compelling customer value with market-differentiating benefits such as enhanced ROI, quality of service, business continuity, security, data protection and/or virtualization; award winners: Excelero and Mellanox.
                 
      Most Innovative Flash Memory Consumer Application addressing solutions for devices such as smartphones, music/video players, digital cameras, gaming systems, navigational systems, tablets, mobile computing solutions and/or other consumer hardware and software solutions; award winners: DriveSavers and Western Digital.

      Most Innovative Flash Memory Enterprise Business Application addressing a wide range of enterprise market segments, vertical market sectors and customer environments demanding high performance and scale such as AI, machine learning, in-memory databases and other big data applications; award winners: Newisys, Intel and NGD Systems.

      Most Innovative Flash Memory Technology addressing innovations that will change the way flash memory is used in products and raise the bar to new levels of performance, availability, endurance, scalability and/or energy efficiencies; award winners are:

      SSD: Seagate
      Network Interconnect: Microsemi
      Storage Network: Toshiba and Marvell
      All Flash Arrays: IBM
      Controller and SSD: Fadu
      Industry Standards:  SNIA and EXTEN
      Industry Standards: SNIA Solid State Storage Initiative

      Most Innovative Flash Memory Start-up Company (new award in 2018) recognizes the most creative and ambitious startup companies and applauds their entrepreneurial journey to becoming a market disruptor and champion of the storage industry; award winners: (NAND Flash): Yangtze Memory Technologies Co., Ltd.
      (Computational Storage):  ScaleFlux.

      “These industry-recognized awards went through a rigorous review process, and the winners represent true innovation as leaders in the flash marketplace,” Awards Program Chairman Jay Kramer said. “The number and quality of the award nominations, ranging from start-ups to established players, as well as collaborations with technology partners, demonstrates the continued strength and growth of this industry. Customers are the beneficiaries of these product innovations, which show the compelling value of flash solutions in the marketplace.”

      Flash Memory Summit, produced by Conference ConCepts, showcases the mainstream applications, key technologies and leading vendors that are driving the multi-billion dollar non-volatile memory and SSD markets.

      Now in its 13th year, FMS is the world’s largest event featuring the trends, innovations and influencers driving the adoption of flash memory in enterprise storage applications, as well as in smartphones, tablets and mobile and embedded systems.
