Siebel Systems Inc., the acknowledged market leader in operational customer relationship management software, made a huge leap toward strengthening its analytical CRM offerings with the acquisition of nQuire Software Inc.

The value of the deal, which was announced today at Siebels Worldwide User Week conference in Chicago, was not disclosed.

Siebel, of San Mateo, Calif., will integrate the nQuire analytic server and Web-based reporting capabilities into its new Siebel 7 release, also announced this week at the show.

nQuire, a privately held company with offices in San Mateo and Minneapolis, was founded in August 1997 and launched its nQuire Suite late in 1999, promising to deliver so-called enterprise-wide business analytics. The software comprises data from data warehouses and operational systems, presented via a Web-based interface, and targeted for mostly non-technical business users.

“We share a common vision with Siebel Systems to advance Information Intelligence to Anyone, Anywhere to optimize relationships with customers, partners and employees,” said Larry Barbetta, CEO and president of nQuire. “This is an unprecedented opportunity to change the model of analysis for the few to rich intelligence for all. This relationship is a natural progression for us.”

Tom Siebel, chairman and CEO of Siebel Systems, said the acquisition completes Siebels product offering in marketing automation and analytics.

“With the nQuire acquisition, we will fundamentally change organizations understanding and deployment of customer intelligence and market intelligence,” he said.
