eWEEK Labs Looks at Kace’s V-KBox 1200 Systems Management Appliance

The V-KBox collected extensive, accurate hardware and software inventory from desktops and servers. You see tabs across the top of the screen. When these tabs were accessed, the product did a good job of identifying processes and services that were on managed nodes.

The product comes with a rudimentary but serviceable help desk trouble ticket system.

At a glance, you see that four systems were being monitored by the V-KBox. Other information shown includes the number of alerts and other actions currently under way.

The V-KBox comes with more than 70 reports. I ran this ad-hoc inventory report to see what software was installed on my systems.
