The updated ECC allows IT managers greater control over Everdreams outsourced desktop management services. In an innovative move, ECC makes it possible for IT managers to mix in-house and outsourced desktop support, which could result in significant cost savings.

ECC modules are offered as a subscription, and the price for each component is well within the range of comparable products. The only tricky part is figuring out if the recurring subscription costs erode cost savings. For components where paid updates are a fact of life (inventory and anti-virus, for example) this is much less of a concern. Whether it makes sense to pay a yearly subscription for remote control, however, is not as obvious.

(+) Allows a mix of outsourced and in-house desktop support; Dashboard view provides at-a-glance status checks.

(-) Supports only Windows desktop systems; data centers are both in Northern California.
