With this latest version of ZENworks for Servers, Novell has expanded the server management software to encompass Windows NT/2000 systems in its directory-enabled management reach. The vendor also more fully integrated the software with its desktop PC management counterpart, ZENworks for Desktops, so that the pair can take on enterprisewide management tasks such as software distribution.

SHORT-TERM BUSINESS IMPACT // Although it will take some doing to ensure that a companys NetWare and Windows NT/2000 systems are properly configured to work with ZENworks for Servers, the product should give managers a lift when it comes to managing large numbers of systems.

LONG-TERM BUSINESS IMPACT // ZENworks for Servers should lower the long-term cost of managing mixed NetWare and Windows NT/2000 shops.

Supports NetWare and Windows NT/2000; integrates with ZENworks for Desktops; manages all systems from one console.

Complicated preparation procedure for initial installation; doesnt manage Unix or Linux systems.
