CrowdFlik Ushers In the 'Gamification of Video'

"CrowdFlik turns every video into a multi-camera shoot," says Chris Hamer, CEO of CrowdFlik, the new iOS app that not only enables users to easily edit and share two-minute videos but lets them borrow footage from fellow CrowdFlik users who were shooting at the same time. "In 2010, 500 million people attended high school sporting events," said Hamer. "No two of those videos were synchronized—now, they can be." CrowdFlik's software synchronizes video to 1/1,000th of a second and then splits them into 10-second frames that users can mix and match with a tap of their touch-screens. Once complete, the videos are easy to email or share on blogs and social networking sites. They also present an enormous opportunity for businesses, which will soon be able to create their own events that users can join and upload video to. "Venues, concert promoters, sponsors—they can all benefit from the power of what people are already collecting," said Hamer.
