ItsOn's Zact: A Contract-Free Wireless Carrier With Custom Plans

Zact is a new wireless carrier that runs on the Sprint network. It's contract-free and marketed to smart, savvy, value-minded users who want to customize their plans, have control of their devices and what they're spending, and be able to intuitively add or subtract options that today can entail hours on the phone with a traditional carrier's customer service rep. "The way for operators to make money is to provide customers what they want—to keep them through loyalty, not lockup," said Greg Raleigh, CEO of Zact parent company ItsOn. With Zact, users can customize the amount of data, minutes and text they want and adjust their choices themselves at any time, as well as remotely control the settings of other phones on their account, of which there can be an unlimited number. Zact is starting with two LG Android phones but expects to have eight manufacturers participating by year's end. "We believe the world needs this," said Raleigh.
