Tough working conditions require a tough smartphone, and that's what the designers had in mind with Kyocera's new DuraForce handset, which is built to take plenty of punishment, including water, mud, shocks, dirt and much more. Available through AT&T and U.S. Cellular, the DuraForce is a rugged 4G LTE Android smartphone that is IP68-certified, which makes it dust-proof, waterproof and submersible in up to 6 feet of water for as long as 30 minutes. It also includes reinforced housing and Military Standard 810G protection against shock, vibration, temperature extremes, blowing rain, low pressure, high altitudes, solar radiation, salt fog and humidity so it can withstand even the harshest workplace environments. The DuraForce, AT&T's first rugged smartphone, sells for $49.99 with a two-year contract, which is a discount of $349 with AT&T. U.S. Cellular offers the phone for $99.99 with a two-year contract, a discount of $300 from its regular price. The phones are also available under monthly payment plans from both carriers. This slide show covers its main features.
