The U.S. Commerce Department last month announced a deal with China to tighten export-control procedures on U.S. dual-use technologies shipped to China.
The deal on exports creates “procedures to strengthen end-use visit cooperation and help ensure that U.S. exports of controlled dual-use items are being used by their intended recipients for their intended purposes,” the Commerce Departments Bureau of Industry and Security said in a statement.
The Bush administration has not released the text of the agreement.
