Further enhancing its enterprise application integration software offering, IBM announced today that it acquired all outstanding shares of business process integration software maker Holosofx Inc.
Financial details of the acquisition, which closed yesterday, were not disclosed.
IBM acquired Holosofx to extend its portfolio of business integration infrastructure software, officials said.
Holosofxs El Segundo, Calif., operations will be integrated immediately with IBM Software Group, and Holosofx products are available now through IBM.
Holosofx offers three software products: Business Process Modeling [BPM} Workbench, Server and Monitor. These tools will be coupled with IBMs WebSphere Business Integration platform to provide users with the means to design, deploy and monitor business processes both across their businesses and with outside partners.
This is the third integration-related acquisition by the IBM Software Group in the past nine months. In January 2002, IBM closed on its purchase of CrossWorlds Software—which also provides business process integration software—and in June it closed on Metamerge, a directory integration software maker.
IBM and Holosofx have had a business relationship since 1998. Holosofx, founded in 1990, boasts customers the likes of Aetna US Healthcare, CAN Life, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, National Australia Bank Group, Toyota and Wachovia Bank.
Holosofx also operates a software development lab in Cairo, Egypt.
