Enterprise application integration software maker SeeBeyond Technology Corp. announced Tuesday its strategy—and new technology—to handle integration at the federal level.
The Real Time Information Network for Government [RING] strategy is aligned with evolving criteria outlined by the federal Office of Management and Budget for enterprise architecture.
Powered by SeeBeyonds eGate Integrator platform, RING will compliment a number of plug-and-play software offerings, and provide cross-platform portability, support for standards and infrastructure independence, officials said.
RING will look to facilitate the work being done by the OMB, which is in the midst of a several-year initiative to e-enable federal agencies and departments—by definition the integration of disparate systems.
As part of that initiative, the OMB is working with CIOs from various federal agencies to develop a Federal Enterprise Architecture—a mandate whereby every cabinet level agency has been directed to develop an enterprise architecture where interoperability is defined as the goal.
SeeBeyond, of Monrovia, Calif., is also working to ensure that RING complies with the Department of Homeland Securitys anticipated National Enterprise Architecture.
To further ease integration, SeeBeyond is developing government-focused software for supply chain management, which will provide out-of-the box connectivity to outside applications and legacy systems.
Featuers include trading partner profile management through a Web based interface, process-driven integration that allows processes to be monitored and linear scalability that supports multiple trading partners and high volume transaction rates.
SeeBeyond is also developing other solutions that work across all applications to support the internal operation and infrastructure of the Federal Enterprise Architecture, such as Human Resources, Finance, Logistics and Procurement, officials said.
Its not clear when the new technology will be available.
