In response to requests from developers, Microsoft has updated Visual Studio 2017 to bring new capabilities aimed at ease of use.
Version 15.8 now includes multi-caret support, which allows users to create multiple insertion and selection points in their code. Now users won’t have to perform workarounds such as opening single files in Visual Studio Code or installing extensions such as MixEdit.
An assortment of new quick commands was also added to offer a range of keyboard combinations to simplify coding. Other new features include two new keyboard profiles for users, Visual Studio Code and ReSharper, to help developers increase their productivity in Visual Studio.
Mozilla released Firefox 62.0 on Sept. 5, providing users on Linux, macOS, Windows, Android and iOS with new features and security updates.
Among the new features in the desktop version of Firefox is an update to the new tab display page, known as Firefox Home, in which users can now see up to four rows of site listings. On Windows, Mozilla has improved Firefox performance for graphics rendering for users who don’t have accelerated hardware.
Support has also been added for the CSS Shapes specification, which enables developers to describe and use geometric shapes for use in web layouts. Additionally, Firefox 62 now includes a Shape Path Editor as part of the CSS Inspector. The update also provides patches for nine security issues, of which only one is rated as being critical and three bugs rated with high severity.
