The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones have set a new Apple record, with more than 4 million devices being preordered in advance of their initial release.

This has caused the company to advise customers that many devices won’t be delivered until October due to overwhelming demand. In addition to U.S. customers, smartphone buyers in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the United Kingdom will also be able to purchase the new iPhone models on Sept. 19.

WordPress has disclosed that it has reset the passwords for more than 100,000 accounts that were affected by the posting of information on 5 million Google accounts that was publicly posted on a Russian Bitcoin forum site.

On Sept. 15 Google responded to news of the posting by denying that its site had been breached and by claiming that fewer than 2 percent of the accounts in the list were actually valid. While Google itself didn’t see much impact, the exposure apparently hit WordPress the hardest.

That is because—not coincidentally— the 100,000 accounts that WordPress reset is the same number of Google accounts that the search company confirmed were actually valid.

Brocade has acquired Vistapointe in an effort to give their network operator customers that are adopting network-functions virtualization greater visibility into their architectures.

Brocade officials explained that mobile network operators are looking for tools that will enable them to better visualize, manage, analyze and secure the data traffic coming from their subscribers.

Vistapointe’s network intelligence technologies are designed to help network operators tap into the subscriber data and can be used in-network or via the cloud.

Microsoft announced yesterday that it is acquiring Mojang, maker of the Minecraft video game for $2.5 billion. Comments made by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella indicate that the company plans to be a continued presence in the video games market.

According to company estimates, Minecraft has been downloaded more than 100 million times on the PC, and its mobile editions have earned the top spot in the paid app rankings for iOS and Android.
