Enterprises are continuing to experience difficulties with their increasingly mobile environments—from the number of smartphones and tablets flooding the market to the challenges that come with managing the devices and data that lies within them.

In response to this, Dell has launched a global marketing campaign to dispel some myths enterprises have about mobility and highlight the many benefits of mobile technologies and practices.

Sean Wisdom, global director of mobility solutions at Dell, explained that the company has been working with businesses to help them with BYOD deployments and addressing the concern among employees about corporate IT gaining access to the personal information on devices.

Microsoft has announced that the Surface Pro 3 docking station has arrived on store shelves in the United States and Canada. The dock is available at Microsoft stores and select retailers, including Best Buy and Staples, for $199.99.

This last piece of the Surface Pro 3 trifecta completes the tablet’s transformation from a touch-enabled computing slate and a laptop to a full-fledged desktop, according to the company.

Google has added the open source MEAN stack to its list of development tools that can be implemented more quickly on the Google Compute Engine platform.

The MEAN stack’s main components include MongoDB, a leading NoSQL database, Express Web Framework, AngularJS, an extensible JavaScript framework and NodeJS, a network applications platform. The MEAN stack offers a full-stack JavaScript framework that can help developers rapidly build and deploy their applications.

There has been yet another large consumer data breach in the U.S., this time impacting grocery supermarket chain Supervalu.

The supermarket chain confirmed that here was a payment card breach and consumer information may have been stolen from 180 Supervalu-affiliated stores throughout the U.S.

The company explained that attackers may have stolen customer payment card account holder names, numbers and expiration data. Supervalu is now offering complimentary consumer identity protection to impacted customers for the next 12 months.
