      Facebook, Google Top Glassdoor’s 2018 List of the Best Places to Work

      Being one of the best places to work in the Tech industry is a competitive advantage when it comes to recruiting the best talent. That’s because all that tech talent is scouring the Web to find out which companies are tops in the industry. To help people identify opportunities, job search site Glassdoor each year ranks companies in its annual Best Places to Work series. It examines firms based on employee reviews, salary information, and benefits, among other factors. Although it’s an inexact science, it sheds light on which major corporations tend to treat their employees best. This slide show lists the ten best places to work among technology companies. The list also sheds light on where companies place overall against enterprises in other industries. Read on to learn more:

      2Facebook

      Facebook

      Facebook has the distinction of being not only the best place to work in technology, but also the best place to work among any big company, Glassdoor reported. The company scored an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 from employees. Facebook placed second in the 2017 study and fifth in 2016, Glassdoor said.

      3Google

      Google

      Google took the second spot in the tech roundup and fifth place overall. Like Facebook, the search giant nabbed an average score of 4.6 out of a possible five from its employees and was cited by workers for having “excellent benefits [and] exciting products.” In 2017, Google took the fourth spot overall and nabbed eighth place in 2016.

      4HubSpot

      HubSpot

      The inbound marketing technology company HubSpot landed in third place in the technology roundup and seventh place overall. HubSpot received an average rating of 4.6 out of a possible five. HubSpot wasn’t even in the top 50 overall in 2017.

      5World Wide Technology

      World Wide Technology

      Employees at World Wide Technology gave the company an average score of 4.5 out of 5, helping it to take the fourth spot among technology companies. Employees touted how “the executive team is readily available to anyone who reaches out,” adding that the company is simply, “one of the best.” While World Wide Technology was in eighth place overall among all companies on the list. That was down from fifth place in 2017.

      6Ultimate Software

      Ultimate Software

      Ultimate Software took the fifth spot among technology companies and placed in tenth overall. It was the first time that Ultimate Software, which focuses on HR-related software, was able to land in the top 50. The company’s average employee score was a 4.5 out of 5 and one worker said that its “culture and values are truly the foundation” of the company. The person added that Ultimate Software has a “culture of caring.”

      7SAP

      SAP

      With an average score of 4.5 out of five, SAP landed in the sixth spot among technology companies and 11th place overall in the Glassdoor study. SAP was called “a great place for Millennials” and its culture was touted for its “empathy.” SAP was in 15th place overall in 2017.

      8Salesforce

      Salesforce

      In seventh place among technology companies and 15th place overall, Salesforce continues to move up the list of best places to work. In 2017, in fact, the company landed in 17th place overall. In 2016, it was all the way back in 32nd place overall. This year, Salesforce nabbed an average rating of 4.5 out of five and was called “one amazing place to work.”

      LinkedIn

      While LinkedIn took the eighth spot in the Glassdoor ranking and 21st place overall, it wasn’t all good news. In 2016, for instance, LinkedIn was in sixth place overall. In 2017, LinkedIn, which was acquired by Microsoft in December 2016, held eighth place. Still, employees gave LinkedIn an average rating of 4.5 out of five and said that it has “great perks,” including free food and free ice cream.

      10DocuSign

      DocuSign

      DocuSign has held steady in Glassdoor’s ranking with 22nd place overall and ninth place among technology companies. In 2017, DocuSign held the 23rd spot overall. This time around, DocuSign earned an average rating of 4.4 out of five, thanks to its “ideal work life balance.” One employee called DocuSign “an amazing place to work.”

      11Nvidia

      Nvidia

      Nvidia has taken the 10th spot among technology companies with an average score of 4.4 out of five. Nvidia, which was in 24th place overall in Glassdoor’s rankings, was up from its 30th place finish in 2017. Employees said that working at Nvidia “is fun” and said that the company’s “working environment is great.”
