      The latest member of the Janam XG3 series of handheld rugged enterprise computers boasts the ability to read a barcode from more than 50 feet away.

      With its 3.5-inch color TFT VGA top-mounted touch-screen display and integrated keyboard, the XG3-ER allows users to get their work completed at any angle and read product barcodes from more than 50 feet away in almost any working environment.

      The latest Janam handheld computer is equipped with a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of onboard storage, a 5,200mAh hot-swappable Li-ion battery, and 802.11 WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities.

      Highlighting the new XG3-ER is an Intermec EX25 near/far imager and auto-focusing capabilities, giving the device the ability to read virtually any kind of 1D and 2D barcode, as well as damaged or obscured barcodes for manufacturing, transportation, logistics and other industries.

      Easy to Handle

      Weighing 22 ounces with its battery, the XG3-ER computer is 7.4 inches high, 3.1 inches wide and 8.3 inches long, making it easy to hold and carry for employees as they use it in their workplaces.

      Impact and Weather Resistant

      The XG3-ER is built with rugged construction that can survive multiple 6-foot drops on concrete, while also being sealed to IP65 standards for use in wet and dirty environments. It is dust and dirt resistant and can be used in temperatures from -4 degrees to 140 degrees F.

      The Janam XM2-RFID UHF Handheld Computer

      In July, Janam released its XM2-RFID UHF handheld, which lists at $2,295 and reads ISO18000-63, EPC Global Class 1 Gen 2 tags. The XM2-RFID UHF fits in the palm of the hand, weighs 13 ounces and can complete more than 40,000 tag reads on one battery charge. It has a 3.2-inch color display, runs on Microsoft’s Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 operating system and is ruggedized to withstand drops from 4 feet. It is sealed to IP64 standards against water, dust, dirt and other contaminants in challenging environments.

      Released in May, Janam’s original XG3 ruggedized mobile computer lists for $1,995 and includes a 3.5-inch VGA TFT display, a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, 512MB of RAM and a choice of keypad designs.
