With enhanced video mode, users can now capture moments in minute detail with 4K resolution (3,840 by 2,160 pixels/30p), which offers four times the detail of Full HD. Features like SteadyShot image stabilization ensures footage will stay smooth even if the camera is moving, and Movie Creator allows users to trim and crop videos so they can edit down what they want to share.

      3 - A Growing Ecosystem of Camera-Based Apps

In addition to Info-eye, Social live and Timeshift burst features, the Z2 comes preloaded with Xperia camera apps for both photo and video, including AR effect, now available for video recording. AR effect allows users to add augmented reality animations, including sound effects for video. To relive action in slow-motion detail, Timeshift video mode lets users shoot in 120 frames per second and select scenes to slow the playback speed.

4 - Waterproof Technology Keeps Z2's Insides Dry

One of the unique features of Sony’s Xperia products, including the Z2 tablet and smartphone, is its waterproof and dustproof construction, which lets users take their phone underwater without fear of wiping it out. The smartphone’s IP58 waterproof certification means the Z2 will last for up to 30 minutes at 5 feet under water—an impressive feat for a device featuring a 5.2-inch display and advanced camera.

5 - Enjoy Entertainment With Clear Audio, Noise Canceling

Digital noise canceling technology and dynamic sound in the Z2 help reduce up to 98 percent of ambient noise, when used with the compact in-ear MDR-NC31EM Digital Noise Cancelling Headset. The handset also offers S-Force Front Surround technology so that users can better hear audio content on the device. Meanwhile, a compact STM10 stereo microphone offers high-quality stereo audio recording.

6 - A Display That Lets You See in Any Light

The smartphone’s Triluminos Display for mobile with brand-new Live Colour LED produces a brighter and more uniform light. The result is richer colors on the screen. In addition, Sony’s intelligent super-resolution technology, X-Reality for mobile, analyzes each image to optimize colors, sharpness and contrast while also reducing noise.

The Xperia Z2 tablet features a Live Colour LED display on its 10.1-inch screen, providing bright natural colors and sharp images in any light thanks to Sony’s latest Bravia TV technology expertise. That’s added to Sony’s X-Reality for mobile intelligent engine that analyzes each image for optimal color.

8 - OmniBalance Design and Waterproof Construction Add Value

Sony’s OmniBalance design creates an ergonomic and fashion-conscious shape that is noticeably slim (only 6.4mm) yet solid in construction. In addition to its lightweight (only 426 grams for the WiFi model and 439 grams for LTE/3G model) design, the tablet is waterproof, so not only is it protected against accidental spills but users can take it into aqueous environments, be it at the beach or in the bathtub.

9 - Tablet Boasts High Performance Without the Battery Drain

With the fully integrated Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with a quad-core Krait CPU, the tablet delivers high performance without draining the battery—meaning users can enjoy immersive multimedia experiences with improved visuals and 3D gaming. And the tablet boasts integrated Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology, which enables devices to charge up to 75 percent faster than devices without it.

The inclusion of OfficeSuite Pro 7 means you can view, edit and share native Microsoft Office files, giving users the flexibility to work where and when they need to. The robust security architecture safeguards both corporate and personal data while providing support for multiple accounts. And Xperia Transfer is a simple way to transfer contacts, photos, bookmarks, apps, messages and more from an existing Android or iOS tablet.

11 - Xperia Family Continues to Expand

Both the Z2 tablet and the smartphone are updates to Sony’s Xperia Z family and additions to the company’s Xperia brand of products, which have a similar look and feel, not to mention features, across various devices at various price points. As one of the few major consumer electronics companies to have experience with high-end audio and video displays in addition to video capture and waterproof performance, Sony offers a compelling product in a competitive market.
