Lenovo U410 Ultrabook

Lenovo’s U410 Ultrabook measures 0.83-inches thin, weighs 4.18 pounds, can pair up to a third-generation Intel Core i7 processor with 1 terabyte of storage and Nvidia GeForce graphics, and get up to nine hours of battery life. When it arrives in the United States later in June, pricing will start at $799.

The IdeaPad U310 measures just 0.7 inches, weighs 3.74 pounds and will sell for $749. Courting a young audience, Lenovo will offer both new Ultrabooks in color options that include Sapphire Blue, Aqua Blue, Cherry Blossom Pink, Graphite Gray and Metallic Red.

Fujitsu’s 14-inch U772 features a frameless WXGA HD Crystal View display, a 0.69-inch profile, a weight of 3.15 pounds, seven hours of battery life and up to an Intel Core i7 with Intel Turbo Boost Technology. Built-in 3G from AT&T, Verizon or Sprint will be offered in the fall. Pricing starts at $1,149. A 13.3-inch version starts at $999.

On June 5, Fujitsu also refreshed its Lifebook NH532 desktop replacement notebook with a third-generation Intel Core processor. Featuring a 17.3-inch HD+ display, the NH532 starts at $749.

Fujitsu also introduced a global lineup of Esprimo PCs—an E710 desktop, a P710 microtower and a Q910mini PC—all running Ivy Bridge processors. The Q910 is said to be “highly energy-efficient” and to offer “seamless network integration,” thanks to Advanced Intel Desktop Manageability via Intel Pro. Pricing starts at $999.

Toshiba is calling its Portege Z930 the world’s lightest 13-inch Ultrabook. Supporting up to third-generation Core i7 processors with vPro and AMT technology, the Z930 is 0.63-inches thin and weighs less than 2.5 pounds. It’s designed, says Toshiba, “for doing business on the go.”

Another look at the svelte Portege Z930. The Ultrabook also benefits from a Toshiba Smart Client Manager powered by Tivoli technology from IBM, which is said to take power and patch management to the next level.

Toshiba’s R930 Ultraportable now also runs up to a Core i7 Intel processor. It can be configured with a hard drive or solid-state drive and went on sale June 5, starting at $1,399.

Toshiba’s R930 weighs 3 pounds, is an inch thin and comes with two USB 3.0 ports, Bluetooth 3.0 and an integrated DVD drive.

Dell is calling the Inspiron 14z its second Ultrabook offering, behind the XPS 13. It starts at 4.12 pounds, is 0.83 inches thin and, designed for student budgets, starts at $700.

On June 5 Dell also introduced the 14R, 15R, 17R and 13z, all new Inspiron notebooks running Intel Ivy Bridge processors.

A number of the new Inspirons, for kitchens, living rooms and dorm rooms, can be fitted with Switch lids—interchangeable lids for a new look or fun pop of color. Several of the lids can be purchased on the Dell site with an instant savings that lowers the price to $20.
