      1Midmarket Price

      1

Nokia and T-Mobile are pricing the Lumia 710 at $49 in the United States with a two-year contract, clearly aiming at a U.S. midmarket increasingly dominated by Google Android devices.

      2Apps

      2

The Lumia 710 features access to Microsoft’s growing collection of mobile apps, in addition to Nokia-specific ones, such as Nokia Drive.

      3Hubs

      3

The Windows Phone interface offers a set of subject-specific “hubs” (such as “People”) that group applications and Web content, in contrast to other smartphone interfaces and their gridlike screens of individual apps.

      4Battery

      4

Nokia rates the Lumia 710’s maximum 2G talk time at 6.9 hours and maximum 3G talk time at 7 hours.

      5No Title

ScreenThe Lumia 710’s 3.7-inch touch screen includes what Nokia calls “ClearBlack,” which it claims makes blacks deeper and colors pop.

      6Processor

      6

The Lumia 710 is backed by a 1.4GHz processor.

      7Camera

      7

Here is a look at the Lumia 710’s 5-megapixel rear camera.

      8Color Options

      8

In the United States, the Lumia 710 is being offered in either black or white.

      9Nokia Plans

      9

Nokia executives have hinted that the Lumia 710 is just the start of a much larger road map of product releases, which could very well include the higher-end Lumia 800.

      10Big Hopes

      10

Both Microsoft and Nokia hope the new device will gain traction among users, and help both companies establish a more substantial presence in the U.S. smartphone market.
