      1Amaze 4G

      1

T-Mobile wants its new HTC Amaze 4G to attract those smartphone users who double as serious shutterbugs and want 4G speeds.

      2Weight

      2

At 6.1 ounces, the Amaze 4G feels weighty but comfortable in the hand.

      3Android

      3

The Amaze 4G runs Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread).

      4Power

      4

The Amaze 4G packs a lot of power under the hood, in the form of a Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor with 1.5GHz dual-core CPUs, more than enough for most applications.

      5Resolution

      5

The 4.3-inch quarter high-definition (qHD) super LCD capacitive multi-touch screen (540 x 960) resolution is crisp, but seems a little dim or matte in comparison to the iPhones Retina Display or the Samsung Galaxy S II.

      6Camera

      6

T-Mobile and HTC are marketing the camera as the Amaze 4Gs strong point. The 8-megapixel rear camera, paired with a 2-megapixel front aperture, is capable of taking 1,080p HD video.

      7Settings

      7

HTC tweaked the Amaze 4Gs camera for almost instant performance when it comes to focusing and snapping.

      8Options

      8

You can then edit the photos to your hearts content (cropping, auto-enhance, high contrast, etc.), spin through your portfolio of images or share them with the world.

      9Battery

      9

The Amaze 4Gs Achilles heel: battery life. The drain on the device is considerable, making it difficult to make it through a day of moderate-to-heavy use on a single charge.

      10Sunlight

      10

The Amaze 4Gs camera is shown here using natural light.

      11Dim

      11

The Amaze 4G seemed to have a little trouble focusing in dim light.
