T-Mobile Simple Choice mobile plan customers can now get up to 12 free Samsung Galaxy On5 or Samsung Galaxy J7 smartphones for each of up to 12 family plan users under a new limited-time promotion that also features a 6GB to 10GB per user monthly data plan.

Under the deal, Simple Choice customers can get free Galaxy On5 phones (pictured) when they buy 6GB of 4G LTE high-speed data per line for $30 per line per month for the first four family members. Additional lines are $20 per month per line for up to eight more users. The Galaxy On5 phones retail for $140 each.

Customers who buy 10GB Simple Choice plans for each family member can get free Galaxy J7 smartphones, which retail for $240 each. The 10GB data plans cost $40 per line for the first four lines, plus $30 for up to eight additional lines. T-Mobile announced the promotions July 12.

The smartphones are free to customers through monthly service credits over 24-month no-cost financing agreements, according to the company. Both offers include unlimited calling and texting.

The Samsung Galaxy On5 smartphone features a 5-inch HD thin-film transistor (TFT) touch-screen display with 1280 by 720 resolution, a quad-core 1.3GHz processor, 1.5GB of memory, 8GB of on-board storage and a microSD card slot that accepts cards up to 128GB for additional storage.

Also included is a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and LED flash, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, built-in GPS for maps and other services, Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity and a 2,600mAh rechargeable battery. The Galaxy On5 handset runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

The phone is 5.60 inches high, 2.83 inches wide, 0.33 inches thick and weighs 5.26 ounces.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 smartphone features a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED touch-screen display with 1280 by 720 resolution, a quad-core 1.5GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of memory, 16GB of on-board storage and a microSD card slot that accepts cards up to 128GB for additional storage.

Also included is a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and LED flash, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, built-in GPS for maps and other services, Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity and a 3,000mAh rechargeable battery. The Galaxy J7 smartphone runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

The phone is 6 inches high, 3.1 inches wide and 0.30 inches thick, and weighs 6 ounces.

T-Mobile has introduced a wide variety of mobile innovations over the last few years that are also included in the Simple Choice plans, such as its Binge On video-streaming services, which offer unlimited streaming; its JUMP! On Demand frequent device swapping options; its unlimited Music Freedom music streaming; free mobile phone WiFi capabilities for calls and Internet use; and its Data Stash monthly data rollovers for up to 12 months.

“This is our best deal ever—a free Samsung Galaxy smartphone on us,” John Legere, T-Mobile CEO and president, said in a statement. “And this is a lifeline for the carriers’ long-abused customers, who have got to be sick of the rate hikes, the restrictions and the carrier [nonsense]. “We’ve found a better way to do wireless at the Un-carrier.”

In June, T-Mobile offered a limited-time mobile plan that included two lines with 6GB of data each for $80 a month. The special deal was for customers who didn’t require a minimum of four lines that are featured in most mobile plan family packages.
