Motorola Droid Bionic, Toshiba Tablet, HTC Inspire, Others Shown at CES

The Motorola Droid Bionic features a 4.3-inch display, Android 2.2, front- and rear-facing cameras (with an 8-megapixel rear camera), a dual-core processor, and 512MB RAM.

The Droid Bionic will be available on Verizon, which is promising speeds up to 10 times that of 3G on its 4G LTE network. Motorola is staying mum so far on a price point.

The Motorola Xoom is a 10.1-inch tablet running Android 3.0 (code-named “Honeycomb”), which is optimized for tablets. The Xoom’s processing power comes courtesy of the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, each core running at 1GHz.

The Motorola Xoom can power 1080p video, and includes an HDMI output along with front- and rear-facing cameras. Those cameras support video chat over WiFi and 3G/4G LTE.

Energizer’s Inductive Charger, for cordless mobile-device charging, now comes in dual- and single-bay formats. The Charger uses Qi—a charging standard developed by the Wireless Power Consortium—to power devices wirelessly.

Ford is spending CES heavily promoting Sync, its in-car IT system developed in conjunction with Microsoft.

Barnes & Noble hopes its Android-based Nook Color e-reader can compete against not only Amazon.com’s Kindle e-reader, but also the tablet PCs hitting the market with e-reader applications.

This Android 2.2-based smartphone for AT&T features a 1GHz processor and 4.3-inch touch screen.

The HTC Inspire also integrates an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. Unfortunately, HTC reps did not have a battery installed with this display device.

Yahoo is tweaking its Connected TV, which includes Flickr, Facebook and Twitter integration onto a traditional TV platform.

Toshiba’s Android 3.0-based tablet features a 10.1-inch display with 1,280-by-800 resolution. The company did not offer a firm release date or pricing for the device.

The Toshiba tablet also boasts an EasyGrip finish and will apparently be available in multiple colors. Front- and rear-facing cameras have been integrated for video conferencing.

RIM hopes its 7-inch PlayBook, seen here, will capture the attention of both enterprise procurers looking for an employee tablet and consumers.

The PlayBook features a proprietary operating system, which RIM hopes will allow it to stand out in a tablet market increasingly crowded by Android-based devices and the Apple iPad.

Many of the mobile devices making an appearance at CES are fronted with ultra-tough Gorilla Glass.

Samsung is using CES to further promote its 7-inch, Android-based Galaxy Tab tablet.
