      Acer’s Aspire One AOD250 netbook features both Google’s Android operating system and Microsoft’s Windows XP Home. Users can switch between the two with just a mouse click.

      Android enables the Aspire One to offer “instant on” Internet connectivity that eliminates the need to wait for the device to fully boot up.

      The Aspire One weighs 2.79 pounds, is now available for $349.99 and comes in Ruby Red, Diamond Black, Sapphire Blue and Seashell White.

      The Aspire 5738PG is Acer’s first notebook to feature a screen with multitouch capabilities. Consumers first became acquainted with this feature, which lets users pinch and expand their fingers to resize images and swipe two fingers to scroll, on Apple’s iPhone.

      The 5738PG features a 15.6-inch HD CineCrystal LED-backlit screen, a 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and Microsoft’s Windows 7 OS. Pricing will begin at $799.99.

      Acer grew its Timeline series with the addition of the AS1810TZ, an 11.6-inch, 3.08-pound notebook with 8-plus hours of battery life and a 1.3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

      The new Timeline features a dedicated backup button and a Multi-Gesture touchpad, which allows for the same finger swirling, tapping and swiping as a multitouch touch screen. It starts at $599.99, and is also available in 13.3-, 14- and 15.6-inch versions.
