Luxury watchmaker Movado is offering two new smartwatch lines that offer activity monitoring and alerts for incoming calls and text messages, all in stylized, luxury designs made from quality materials.

The two smartwatch lines, the Movado Motion and the Movado BOLD Motion (pictured), run on software and systems from partner companies and work with Android or iOS smartphones, according to a Nov. 16 announcement by Movado.

The Movado Motion timepieces come in six models and start at $995 each, with the Museum Sport version for men and the Bellina version for women. The Motion smartwatches do not have display-based watch faces, but run using a MotionX software platform from Fullpower Technologies, according to the company.

The Movado Motion timepieces provide information for users on their steps taken, activity tracking, tracking of their sleep patterns and sleep cycle alarms, while also providing get-active alerts and dynamic coaching about their activities, according to the company. The watches have two-year battery life and automatic world clock functions.

The new Movado Museum Sport and Bellina smartwatches are available on Movado.com immediately.

The other new Movado models, the BOLD Motion smartwatches, run using software from HP. The unisex Movado BOLD Motion—which notifies users of incoming phone calls and texts through vibrations and lights, allows users to track appointments on multiple calendars, monitors daily steps and tracks their activity progress through a smartphone app—is priced at $695.

The Movado BOLD smartwatch, which offers one week of battery life on a charge and is water-resistant, will be available before the holidays through Movado.com.

The BOLD watch can be purchased with a stainless steel case and a black silicone strap or with a black PVD case and a black silicone strap. Both watches come with a polished black PVD bezel and Rhonda 763 movements, as well as with a USB charger.

“Movado Group has always been committed to providing our consumers with exceptional innovative design and we are extremely excited to show the world how we have merged modern iconic design with technology,” Efraim Grinberg, CEO and chairman of Movado Group, said in a statement. “The partners we collaborated with execute smart technology in a user-friendly way understanding that today’s consumers have differing needs regarding how connected they want to be.”

HP previously partnered with fashion designer Michael Bastian in November 2014 on another luxury smartwatch under HP’s Engineered by HP program, according to an earlier eWEEK story. The MB Chronowing smartwatch, engineered by Hewlett-Packard and styled by fashion designer Michael Bastian, debuted in November 2014 in two versions—a standard device priced at $349 and a more luxurious, limited-edited version for $649. The MB Chronowing smartwatches combine the work of famous designers with luxury materials and modern electronics. Bastian is an American menswear designer, based in New York City, who launched his own designer line after working for Abraham & Strauss, Sotheby’s, Tiffany & Co., Polo Ralph Lauren and Bergdorf Goodman.

The MB Chronowing is a 44mm stainless steel smartwatch, which includes a face that looks like a traditional round watch face, but is changeable electronically. It includes calendar, email and text notification capabilities, as well as one-week battery life and the ability to adjust volume and control music tracks from the device. The MB Chronowing comes in two versions, including a standard version with three interchangeable wrist straps in perforated brown leather, olive green nylon and black rubber.
