Email encryption provider DataMotion announced a partnership with Dell to empower users of the company’s SonicWall email security solutions to encrypt and secure sensitive emails and attachments.

The partnership aims to help organizations of various sizes, especially those in regulated industries such as health care, financial services and government, to exceed privacy standards for secure email and data transfer.

The combined DataMotion-Dell SonicWall solution also prevents confidential data leaks and regulatory violations through compliance scanning, management and email encryption to assure the secure exchange of email containing sensitive customer data or confidential information.

“We were very focused on partnering with a cloud-based email encryption solution that offered the best end-user experience on both desktop and mobile platforms. After evaluating the leading email encryption providers, it was clear that the DataMotion solution was the best choice for us,” Patrick Sweeney, executive director of product management for Dell, said in a statement. “Their encryption technology complements our existing email security portfolio very well, and the DataMotion team was really easy to work with and willing to accommodate our specific needs and requirements.”

In addition, the partnership will provide Dell SonicWall email security users compliance-grade encryption capabilities for all emails and file attachments with a simple mouse-click, right from their Outlook client.

The DataMotion platform enables Dell to provide their customers with a cloud-hosted service to protect email and file attachments from accidental exposure and data theft.

The SonicWall platform, in turn, offers a variety of flexible email security solutions to match the email security needs of a variety of organizations, across multiple vertical industries.

The SonicWall email compliance and encryption services are available to users in North America, Europe and Asia and offered in nine languages, according to a company release.

“It is extremely satisfying to have our cloud-based email encryption technology recognized and adopted by a world leader in email security appliance solutions,” Bob Bales, CEO of DataMotion, said in a statement. “I am particularly pleased that Dell recognized not only our technical prowess, but also our agility and strength as an organization to support their offer worldwide. We are thrilled to be a part of the Dell Software partner family.”

In February, Dell announced the newest release of the company’s SonicWall-branded secure mobile access solution for managed and unmanaged bring-your-own-device environments, which combines the SonicWall Mobile Connect 3.0 application and SonicWall secure remote access series appliance 7.5.

The platform enables administrators to configure and enforce security policies that provide context-aware authentication. Mobile devices are interrogated for essential security information such as jailbreak or root status, device ID, certificate status and OS versions prior to granting access.
