HOUSTON–When it comes to partnering with Microsoft in an application development capacity, over the last year no one has done it better than PROS.

At its Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) 2013 here, Microsoft honored PROS with the 2013 Microsoft Application Development Partner of the Year Award. PROS, a Houston-based big data software company, was honored among a global field of top Microsoft partners for demonstrating excellence in innovation and implementation of customer solutions based on Microsoft technology.

The Application Development Partner of the Year Award recognizes exceptional innovation from a partner that has delivered commercial or custom-developed solutions during the past year, whether it is a business application, Web portal, Web-based applications or rich client-user interfaces that run on-premise or in the cloud.

“Microsoft is pleased to recognize PROS as the Application Development Partner of the Year,” said Eron Kelly, Microsoft’s general manager of product marketing for SQL Server, in a statement. “Using SQL Server, Office, SharePoint and Dynamics CRM, PROS solutions are designed to deliver business-critical information in a familiar way and in real time. The goal is to provide strong ROI for its customers.”

Awards were presented in multiple categories, with winners chosen from a set of more than 3,000 entrants from 106 countries. PROS was recognized for providing outstanding solutions and services in application development.

“We are honored to be recognized as the Microsoft Application Development Partner of the Year, and I accept this recognition on behalf of our entire team,” said PROS President and CEO Andres Reine, in a statement. “Microsoft has been a strategic resource to our company as we’ve worked together to help customers drive sales growth. One of the hallmarks of our six-year collaboration has been our shared vision of bringing big data applications to customers that uncover insights about their client’s buying patterns and create transformational selling advantages that help them outperform. We appreciate the support and confidence of Microsoft and look forward to a continued strong relationship.”

The Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards recognize Microsoft partners that have developed and delivered exceptional Microsoft-based solutions during the past year.

“These are partners that have delivered amazing solutions, really showcasing the innovation that we’ve done with our products over the past year,” said Jon Roskill, corporate vice president of the Worldwide Partner Group at Microsoft. “So congratulations to our global award winners.”
