    D-Link Expands Line of Cloud Routers, SharePort Mobile Solutions

      Networking solutions specialist D-Link announced enhancements to its cloud-enabled products with the availability of the Cloud Router 2500, Cloud Router 1100 and SharePort Mobile Companion.

      For basic Internet needs, the Cloud Router 1100 delivers up to 300M bps pitched at users who want Web browsing, email and online chatting capabilities, while the N750 Dual-Band Gigabit Cloud Router 2500 is designed for high-bandwidth activities delivering speeds of up to 750M bps for uninterrupted HD video streaming, online gaming and large file downloading and uploading.

      Both Cloud Routers feature a built-in high-powered amplifier to extend WiFi range and improve wireless speeds in hard-to-reach areas. For fast wired connections, the Cloud Router 2500 is equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet ports and the Cloud Router 1100 has four Ethernet ports. The cloud routers also offer remote network management with the free mydlink Lite app from an Apple iPhone or iPad or Google Android devices.

      Designed for road warriors and workers on the go, the SharePort Mobile Companion is designed to provide an all-in-one wireless networking solution. With multiple wireless modes, including router, WiFi hotspot and access point/repeater modes, users can create a personal WiFi hotspot or secured wireless network and extend an existing wireless network. In addition, the SharePort device is designed with a USB port that wirelessly enables a USB flash drive for mobile storage and can also charge a smartphone or tablet device.

      The Cloud Routers and SharePort Mobile Companion also feature a USB port that works with the free SharePort mobile app, allowing users to play and share files from a range of connected devices. Users can connect a USB drive or external hard drive to the USB port on the new Cloud Routers and SharePort Mobile Companion and with the SharePort Mobile app they can simultaneously share a range of content to their iPhone, iPad or Android devices without taking up device memory.

      “D-Link is committed to expanding the features available to users for the ultimate convenience and performance anywhere, anytime,” D-Link Systems director of product marketing Ken Loyd said in a statement. “D-Link’s latest Cloud Routers deliver increased range and wireless speeds for seamless video streaming and web-browsing anywhere in the home. In addition, the next generation SharePort Mobile Companion (DIR-505L) now offers charging for a smartphone or tablet device.”

      The D-Link Cloud Router 2500 (DIR-836L) is available for $99.99, the Cloud Router 1100 (DIR-626L) is available for $39.99 and the SharePort Mobile Companion (DIR-505L) is available for $59.99 through the company’s network of etailers and retailers in the US.
