Administaff, a provider of human resources services for small and midsize businesses, announced the acquisition of certain assets from HumanConcepts, a provider of workforce-decision-support solutions.

Administaff has acquired HumanConcepts’ OrgPlus software product line for midmarket companies, as well as a source-code license for a SAAS- (Software as a Service) based version, which the company said would be released later this year. HumanConcepts will retain its enterprise-solution suite.

OrgPlus is designed to facilitate the rapid creation, management and communication of detailed organizational charts. It also provides a framework that promotes workforce analysis by bringing together data from accounting, HR, sales, performance management and other business systems into a visual display. By creating this visual context, management, HR professionals and employees are able to better understand their organizational structure, increase their productivity and plan for change, according to Administaff.
“OrgPlus is a well-established brand with feature-rich products that will solidly complement our growing line of business-performance-improvement software solutions delivered in both a licensed and a SAAS model,” said Paul J. Sarvadi, Administaff chairman and CEO. “We expect to generate attractive cross-selling opportunities with our SMB customers and prospects, as well as introducing Administaff products and services to the more than 60,000 existing SMB OrgPlus customers and partner channels.”
The acquisition includes the brand name and entire OrgPlus licensed software product line for the SMB market. Administaff is also acquiring additional technology assets in the form of a source-code license, which will facilitate the launch of a SAAS-based version of the product targeted at midmarket businesses later this year.
“This agreement is good for customers of both companies,” said Martin Sacks, HumanConcepts president and CEO. “Administaff is well-positioned to serve the HR needs of small and medium-sized business customers, while HumanConcepts can now exclusively focus on delivering an end-to-end solution for organizational-change management to our larger enterprise customers. We have gained significant traction among organizations that need to optimize their organizational structures as an ongoing business activity, and we see this as a large and growing market opportunity.”
HumanConcepts will dedicate its resources to expanding the OrgPlus Enterprise platform and suite of SAAS-based organizational-change-management solutions, which are designed for large-scale public and private-sector organizations with more than 1,000 employees.

“These customers will benefit from accelerated product development and faster delivery of enhanced, integrated solutions that enable them to perform better, rapidly address organizational change and manage growth,” a company release stated.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed; however, the acquisition costs and first-year operations are not material to Administaff’s 2011 results, according to the company release.
