That was way cool news about online game creator Zynga leasing 270,000 square feet of office space in downtown San Francisco, four blocks from CalTrain and five blocks from AT&T Park, where the Giants call home.
The company also plans to hire up to 2,000 more employees to go with its current 1,200. That’s a sweet news story for the local economy.
Zynga, as you might already know, develops games such as Farmville, Mafia Wars, and the like for Facebook users. The Station has learned from an inside source at the company that it is hauling in upwards of $7 million per day, with a high percentage of that going to its online host, Facebook.
Hmmm. This may be one reason how Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is able to give $100 million to Newark, N.J. schools.
So, you say: What does this have to do with a storage blog? Nothing directly. But if we have to justify the topic in this space, we’ll just say that, well, Zynga has a LOT more storage space to use in its new 270K-square-feet office.
