T-Mobile Offers LG Sentio for $70 with Contract

The LG Sentio is now available, exclusively on the T-Mobile network.
The carrier revealed that pricing for the phone is $9 per month for 20 months with T-Mobile’s Even More Plus plan, or $70 per month after a $60 instant rebate and a $50 mail-in rebate and with a two-year service agreement and qualifying data plan.
T-Mobile introduced the socially focused LG Sentio in early June. The phone features a 3-inch touch screen that’s paired with an accelerometer, so it can be used in landscape or portrait modes, and it includes a virtual keypad-helpful for responding to messages and posting new status updates through Social Buzz, an included application for efficiently managing social-networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
With T-Mobile’s 3G network, Web surfing is supported, along with instant messaging, e-mail and GPS guidance. A music player is on board, and so are Stereo Bluetooth connectivity, Visual Voicemail-so you can click on the message you want to hear, instead of listening your way through ones you’re not interested in-and a 3-megapixel camera with video capture and playback.

A MicroSD slot is included, for transferring photos and other multimedia files to other devices, and a mobile backup feature lets users store contacts on the T-Mobile network, so losing one’s phone needn’t mean losing a beat with one’s friends.
The LG Sentio measures 4.2 by 2.1 by 0.5 inches, weighs 3.3 ounces and offers 6 hours of talk time and up to 16 days of standby time.
LG holds the No. 3 position in the worldwide mobile phone market, which is currently led by Nokia and Samsung. In the first quarter of 2010, LG held 8.9 percent of the market and saw shipments grow by 20 percent year over year, according to ABI Research.
At the start of 2010, LG President Skott Ahn announced plans to build the phone maker into a top market leader, saying LG plans to become one of the top two global performers by 2012. In large part its plan centers on embracing the Android operating system, and its first Android-running smartphone, the LG Ally, arrived on the Verizon Wireless network in May.
