MSI Computer is introducing four new notebooks, each pairing Microsoft’s Windows 7 Home Premium operating system with Intel processors and cinematic promises of an “ultimate viewing experience” on backlit HD displays.

Three models, under a CR620 umbrella, feature 15.6-inch displays, while the fourth, the CR600, features a 16-inch display. All four, however, offer resolutions of 1,366 by 768 pixels. The new notebooks were announced Feb. 16.
The CR620s run Intel’s Arrandale platform and feature new Core i3 or Core i5 processors, plus 4GB of DDR3 (double-data-rate) memory. The CR620-030 and CR620-033 offer 320GB SATA hard drives, while the CR620-031 comes with a 500GB drive, plus a Blu-ray DVD combo drive.
The 16-inch CR600 instead runs Intel’s Pentium Dual Core T4500 processor, plus Nvidia’s GeForce 8200M and has 3GB of DDR2 memory.
Wireless 802.11 b/g/draft n connectivity, an Express Card slot, HDMI-out port, three USB ports, MSI Easy Imaging Recording software and a 1.3-megapixel camera are included in all four models, as are microphone-in and headphone-out slots.
The six-cell batteries are said to sit flush along the bottom of the case, and the edges are angled to “elegantly position” the in-out ports and vents.
The notebooks measure 14.74 by 9.73 by 0.7 inches at their slimmest point, offer a three-year limited warranty and are now available at newegg.com.
Pricing for the 16-inch CR600 begins at $529; the CR620-030 and CR620-33, each with Core i3 processors, start at $649 and $729.99, respectively, and the CR620-031, with a Core i5 processor, begins at $749.99.
In January, the California computer maker introduced the Wind U135, a 2.4-pound netbook running the Intel Pine Trail platform and Windows 7 Starter, and boasting a starting price of approximately $310.
