New statistics from ScanSafe (now part of Cisco) for the month of May show five of the top 10 malicious domains were related to attacks against GoDaddy-hosted Websites.
The top 10 malicious domains accounted for 23 percent of all Web malware attacks for the month, the security firm reported. A list of the domains can be found here.
According to ScanSafe, the top pieces of malware for the month were Trojan.JS.Redirector.cq, Gumblar and Win32.Alureon. Alureon in particular has been a target of Microsoft for the past two months, as it has targeted the malware with its Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT) and cleaned it from more than 360,000 Windows PCs since the tool’s May 11 update.
