Storage Station

A bird's eye view of the data storage industry.

4GB Memory Upgrades Now Available for MacBooks

The Station gets pinged every once in a while by Mac users who complain -- and with righteousness, God knows -- that we don't report enough about Mac-related storage.

Well, folks, your time has come.

Other World Computing said today that it is now shipping a 4GB DDR3 Memory Upgrade Kit for Apple's new MacBook 13-inch and MacBook Pro 15-inch laptops, announced this week. OWC Memory is also available in modules and kits of up to 4GB for all previous MacBook and MacBook Pro models, in addition for nearly every current and past Apple computer model.

The 4GB DDR3 Memory Upgrade Kit costs $139.99 for a matched pair of 2GB memory modules for either of the two new MacBooks.

OWC Memory is also available for all previous Core 2 Duo MacBook and MacBook Pro models, including the still offered MacBook "White" 2.1GHz, in a 4GB DDR2 Memory Upgrade Kit (matched pair of 2GB memory modules), priced at $69.99.
