Jon Toigo, CEO of Toigo Partners, writes a cliche-busting, skeptical, yet thoughtful storage blog. It’s colorfully named DrunkenData.com.

Toigo, who eschews the term “analyst,” is a popular speaker, journalist, book author and consultant, and his views, while sometimes a little bombastic, are well respected.

Today he’s in the process of trying to get his arms around de-duplication, which is not a bad idea, because it’s one of the hottest sectors in all of IT right now, and there are a number of different ways to do it and deploy it. Most of the major data storage companies have it on their feature list or option out for it, depending on their client’s needs.

Jon has posted a 10-question quiz for de-duplication vendors. If you are one of his target audience, and have a few extra minutes today, please answer his queries and send the info back to him. Why? Because he will gather this information and write about it, undoubtedly, and we’ll know more about the ways and means of de-dupe as a result.

Thanks in advance.
