While the Dell versus Hewlett-Packard for 3PAR bidding war rages on uncontrollably (see below in this blog) in Round Rock, Texas, Fremont, Calif. and Palo Alto, HP is busy with another slightly important matter: Who will be its new leader, now that Mark Hurd is out?
We may know something about this sooner rather than later. The company’s board and top executives are meeting today at headquarters to make a final determination, we’re told.
Come to think about it, my colleague John Pallatto here at eWEEK made a good point: Who actually is making the decision to throw around billions of dollars of corporate capital for 3PAR, when there’s no CEO to steer the ship?
Perhaps that is the person who will become the next CEO of the world’s largest IT company. We’ll soon find out.
