Nine Technology Upgrades Data Recovery Package

Online backup and recovery software provider Nine Technology, a specialist in serving managed service providers, said Aug. 24 that is augmenting its data-protection packages with new features aimed at making disaster recovery planning easier to do.

With the new features, managed service providers now have the option to jump-start their clients’ data security usingseveral new mechanisms that automate the tedious first part of the business continuity process.

The new features, according to Nine Technology, are: seeded initial backups shipped to the data center; semi-continuous data protection; granular SQL server backups using VSS snapshots; automated self-service branding of partner client software; web-based restore processes; and an updated, easier-to-control GUI.
