You read it here first: Vizioncore, a respected virtualization and data management provider, is teaming with Iland Internet Solutions to deliver new cloud-based disaster recovery services that feature replication between the United Kingdom and United States. The announcement is expected to come next week.
Iland (a small “i” is used to set it apart from the “l”) is a provider of cloud services with an infrastructure spread across six data centers in the United States. The new service, which will be built upon vReplicator software from Vizioncore, provides businesses with an opportunity to protect virtualized networks by replicating data over the pond.
Most replication takes place in local geographic regions, between home and branch offices. Nobody else is doing something this long-distance, to our knowledge. If you know of another instance, feel free to let me know via a comment.
