Enterprise resource planning software maker Lawson Software Inc. on Monday announced the latest point releases of its Services Automation software at EuroCUE, its European user conference held in Brighton, England.
Services Automation 5.1, due to be generally available in December, comes with new applications for portfolio management, time and expense reporting, and managing work requests. The upgrades provide a stronger service process optimization offering for three groups: professional services organizations, professional services departments of product companies, and internal services departments.
Lawsons Service Automation module is integrated with its additional applications, the likes of Enterprise Reporting, Project & Activity Accounting and Billing and Revenue Management.
A second upgrade, Portfolio Management 5.1, is designed to help internal IT organizations align and balance investments with business objectives by tracking all projects, investments and assets, and prioritizing and ranking initiatives. The software can also identify ways to manage budget reductions, and integrates with applications like Work Request and Enterprise Performance Management, said officials at Lawson, of St. Paul, Minn.
Lawsons Time and Expense is a customizable Web application. It supports multiple currencies and corporate credit card integration. The software comes integrated with Lawson Smart Notification to help employees quickly enter time and expense information.
Work Request 5.1 is enhanced to make it easier to enter service and project related requests. Because of a minimal approval process and straightforward assignment processing, smaller work requests can be handled more efficiently with 5.1, officials said.
