      CloudBolt is a cloud management platform that helps enterprises centralize workload automation and orchestration, achieve unparalleled hybrid cloud visibility and cost-savings and deliver self-service IT for developers. By turning the enterprise into an IT service broker, it allows customers to unleash a responsive, agile alternative to runaway IT that gives DevOps what they want, whenever they want it without losing control. CloudBolt is deployed in the world’s largest enterprises, across all industries including financial services, government, health care, manufacturing, retail, technology services and others.

      Key Features

      CloudBolt’s platform supports a variety of cloud technologies, from on-premises virtualization and private cloud to a wide range of public and hybrid cloud configurations, while using a centralized system. CloudBolt deploys and manages all Kubernetes clusters and container-based applications with self-service IT in minutes, not weeks. CloudBolt’s extensible plug-in architecture helps customers integrate new technologies like DevOps tools, infrastructure-as-code, and much more.

      Insight and Analysis

      There are not a lot of peer reviews available for CloudBolt yet. It is still an early-stage venture company, according to Crunchbase. Gartner Peer Reviews had 11 reviews as of April 17, 2020. Here are some sample comments:

      Overall Comment: “Very elegant, simple, straight-forward solution, but yet very extensible and customizable. Took only 30 minutes to download, configure, and hook it up to a resource handler and begin managing/provisioning/orchestrating VMs. Sometimes it can be tricky to get complex orchestrations working consistently, but they have great support to help you along.”

      What do you like most about the product or service? “There’s good built-in structures and workflows to get up and running quickly, but it’s also completely customizable with a little bit of Python knowledge as well.”

      What do you dislike most about the product or service?  “Managing VM templates and OS builds. Very manual process to add and maintain templates and OS builds. Could use some streamlining and automation to make that experience better for administrators.”

      What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?  “Start small and simple, and gradually add complexity to the workflows and orchestrations over time. When automating lots of complex tasks, unreliable outside dependencies can cause lots of problems.”
