    How Prysm is Challenging the Crowd in Visual Business Productivity

      Even though it’s a tad difficult to break into a market already loaded with business workplace productivity platforms made by Cisco Systems, Polycom, High Five and a slew of others, Prysm isn’t shying away from the competition.

      The San Jose, Calif.-based workplace software and hardware maker at the ISE 2018 (Integrated Systems Europe) conference this week released two new native apps for its visual collaboration package–one for Windows 10-powered devices and the other for iPhones.

      The two apps connect Prysm’s platform from mobile devices to desktop PCs to conference rooms. Enterprise collaboration solutions now must be configurable to each employee’s specific preferences to improve engagement, and this is what Prysm aims to do.

      Prysm Digital Workplace Platform lets users collaborate from anywhere and on any device through cloud-based visual workspaces where they can create, edit and share work. The work also can be stored in the cloud and is available to users who want to reaccess it.

      New features in Prysm for Desktop include:

      • connecting your team with shared visual workspaces where everyone is empowered to bring relevant content and ideas into focus across virtually any screen size, from the corner coffee shop to the boardroom;
      • collaborating with participants, regardless of their work location, and consolidating status updates, feedback and action items for subsequent review and prioritization according to your schedule; and
      • sharing any desktop or web application alongside files, notes and sketches, and enabling your team to focus on the information that matters to accelerate critical decisions.

      New capabilities in Prysm for iPhone include:

      • engaging in Prysm projects while mobile or in-room to speed decisions;
      • easily sharing files, website content or other apps to visual workspaces;
      • adding ideas and notes directly to Prysm projects to enhance collaboration;
      • viewing project files up close during collaboration sessions; and
      • quickly and securely logging in to Prysm-enabled displays directly from an iPhone.

      Prysm, founded in 2005, made its reputation during its first decade for making displays used in collaboration settings that spanned everything from large-scale video walls to boardrooms to two-person “huddle rooms.”

      The company’s products were built on its Laser Phosphor Display (LPD) technology and based on the Prysm Application Suite that gave users control of the collaboration session, from resizing images to annotating documents and presentations.

      Since 2016, Prysm has moved into enterprise collaboration space with its hardware-and-software platform that expands the reach of its technology to mobile devices and the cloud.

      “For employees, it is no longer about where they work, but how they can best interact and share the right content to drive the right decisions. Through the release of our new apps for Windows 10-based devices and iPhones, we are enabling enterprises to instill into their culture a customized collaboration experience, where employees can personalize their work experiences from any location or device,” Chief Marketing Officer Paige O’Neill said in a media advisory.

      The desktop app will support Microsoft Windows 10-powered devices with plans to expand to other devices in 2018. The apps will be free to download from the Windows 10 Microsoft Store and the Apple App Store.

      A subscription to Prysm’s digital workplace platform is required. Prysm for iPhone requirements include support for the iPhone 6 and up, iOS 10.2+ and Prysm in-room v2.12+. Additional information on the iPhone app can be found here. Details on the Windows 10 desktop app can be accessed here.
