HyperGrid, a new application delivery platform provider for DevOps deployments, on Nov. 29 announced the immediate availability of core HyperCloud capabilities in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.
HyperGrid was created last July when startups Gridstore and DCHQ merged to produce what amounts to a hyperconverged infrastructure-as-a-service. It’s composed of both HyperCloud and HyperForm.
HyperCloud is a hybrid cloud service that offers application, platform and infrastructure services to accelerate transformation and delivery of business applications that drive innovation and competitive advantage.
HyperForm, the core DevOps and Cloud Automation engine in HyperCloud, is also now available in the Azure Marketplace. HyperForm modernizes existing legacy applications without requiring code changes and by using existing skill sets within an organization.
Provides Private Cloud-Like Environment Resembling AWS
Through the new HyperGrid offering, businesses can create a cloud-like environment similar to something like Amazon Web Services (AWS) in their own data centers.
The hyperconverged infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) delivers a highly-scalable, application-aware environment that can help businesses lower their up-front and operational costs, work with a range of hypervisor and container technologies, and provide one-click application deployment and orchestration, according to Nariman Teymourian, who took over as Gridstore chairman and CEO in May.
On-the-fly containerization capabilities allow users to “lift and shift” existing Java and .NET applications to containers while taking care of the complex application dependencies, automatic service discovery, auto scaling and integration with any external service (such as storage, networking and data logging). HyperForm transforms non-cloud native legacy applications into portable applications that benefit from the auto scaling and deployment agility on Azure.
For many IT enterprises that inherit legacy applications, the task of modernizing these applications while avoiding application code changes becomes overwhelming, the company said. Organizations that are looking for an infrastructure target to lift, containerize and shift their existing applications before migrating to Azure can use HyperCloud’s software-defined infrastructure platform to deliver true cloud agility and economics inside their datacenter.
Drives Migration Efforts to Azure
HyperCloud drives application migration efforts directly to Azure, providing a full scale-out infrastructure platform to a datacenter as a service with no CapEx and using a pay-as-you-go model.
“Any company can transform their IT into an agile cloud utility with HyperCloud,” Teymourian said.
Migrating existing applications to Azure can be simpler than you may think. You can try it on your own, free of charge, using this three-step process.
