      Cloud-service newcomer Koupon Media Oct. 8 launched a cloud-based digital campaign management platform for retailers, enabling them to organize, manage and analyze their own digital coupon advertising initiatives.

      The VC-funded company, founded in 2011 and based in Frisco, Texas, also announced that it is the first business-to-business digital-offers platform to be integrated into Passbook. Passbook is a new iOs iPhone app that functions as a kind of digital currency by storing tickets, coupons, and gift and loyalty cards.

      Koupon’s software-as-a-service offering enables enterprises to create, distribute, personalize and analyze all of their digital coupon, offer and loyalty programs. Retailers such as grocery and convenience stores can use digital campaigns to reach customers on any device, then analyze the resulting data to understand buying behavior in real time through Koupon Media’s cloud-based DCM platform.

      Major National Retailers on Board

      7-Eleven and Pepsi were among the first customers to deploy campaigns with Koupon Media, T.J. Person, co-founder and CEO of Koupon Media, told eWEEK.

      “There is no reason that retailers can’t get measureable and progressive campaigns out the door. We’ve removed the difficulties associated with these offers and have made it simple and quick for retailers to deploy,” Person said.

      Koupon’s platform enables retailers to manage digital offers, whether through a mobile app, text, Facebook, Website, email, or Passbook, Person said.

      “For instance, if 7-Eleven were launching their mobile app, we’d provide our API that plugs into other apps, or we’d provide our own white-label app solution for partners to deliver offers through,” Person said. “Really what our platform does is manage multiple channels — it doesn’t matter which ones.”

      Key Features

      Key features of the cloud-based Koupon Media Digital Campaign Management Platform, according to Person, include:

      –APIs makes it easy to integrate into existing mobile applications;

      –white-label mobile apps use customized branding and design, allowing retailers to maintain the integrity of their brand and reach customers directly;

      –elegantly designed portal gives retailers a central place to launch, manage and measure campaigns;

      –single-use offers with or without POS integration;

      –analytics, campaign metrics, segmentation and shopper targeting help retailers understand buying behavior in real time, instead of months later;

      –risk management services eliminate fraud and financial exposure.

      –coupon aggregation and clearing sourced from the largest brands and consumer packaged goods companies;

      –point-of-sale integration with several leading systems.

      Koupon Media was founded in 2011 by Person and Scott Hutchinson and is funded by DFJ Mercury, Trailblazer Capital, and Matthew Pritzker Company.
