SAN FRANCISCO—Oracle, facing constant pressure from popular enterprise cloud-service application providers such as Workday and Salesforce, announced Sept. 24 that it has refreshed its own human capital management (HCM) services set.
Oracle HCM includes services for mainstream human resources, benefits, payroll, recruiting, performance management and learning applications.
At its OpenWorld 2013 conference here at the Moscone Center, Oracle—which launched its Public Cloud in June 2012—also unveiled a few enhancements to its subscription cloud services, including a new app store.
Because human resources and recruiting have become much more of a science in recent years due to increased activity in background checking, security clearances and capability assessments, enterprises are increasingly considering new cloud-supplied services as a way to develop an efficient and productive workforce.
Updates to Oracle HCM Cloud include the following:
—Social network integration: Social-enabled applications are integrated across both internal and external networks, such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and others. Oracle Workforce Reputation Management helps HR discover, mobilize and retain talent by providing insight into employees’ social reputation and influence.
—Streamlined succession planning: By connecting the talent review dashboard with succession plans and talent pools, HR benefits from a more holistic and robust view into talent.
—Improved accessibility to HR Insights: In addition to the already available iOS version, new Android application for Oracle HCM Cloud allows employees to perform HR functions from their mobile devices and tablets.
Updates in Oracle Talent Management Cloud include the following:
—Centralized performance feedback: This now allows managers and HR to add comments to talent pools, succession plans and talent profiles, along with security permissions to personalize the display of sensitive employee information.
—Extended mobile recruitment: New mobile capabilities within Oracle Recruiting Cloud allow candidates and HR to submit applications, review job postings and communicate on their mobile devices.
—Enhance social sourcing: Workflow updates across Oracle Social Sourcing Cloud streamline the candidate experience and help advance the recruiting process. Additionally, new support for YouTube and Vimeo enables organizations to leverage video in delivering high-impact social marketing campaigns.
The updates to Oracle HCM Cloud and Oracle Talent Management Cloud are available now for Oracle Cloud subscribers as part of Release 7.
