Dont you just hate it when you go and misplace 100,000 rakes? Ace Hardware was in that predicament before it discovered the joys of data warehousing. Now its got a Teradata database with MicroStrategy reporting and an Informatica data integration tool. Point-of-sale data is FTPed and routed to the warehouse, where rake-related data and other types of information is available, allowing the retail chain to see whats selling and what needs replenishing, as well as to tweak prices and promotions.
